| Weather conditions, as in 1991, were characterized by lack of precipitation and slightly higher than average air temperatures. As a result, the upper layer of soil and plant litter became dry, and numerous small creeks and ponds dried out.

Breeding conditions:

| Arctic Foxes were rare in the Chegitun river basin. In August waders were recorded in inland tundras only occasionally.
